I am passionate about the teaching profession, and seek out opportunities to better my practice with the focus on student opportunity and achievement. Currently, I am working at Campolindo High School in Moraga, CA where I teach English 1 and English 2. Additionally, I am currently the Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) for Intervention and Academy. I formerly facilitated as the Cyber High program at Campolindo. Since joining the teaching profession, I have sought out additional professional development through Writing Projects throughout the Bay Area, online resources about providing support to at-risk youth through social-emotional curriculum and classroom structure, Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID)’s Summer Institute training around writing curriculum, Expository Reading and Writing Curriculum (ERWC), Columbia’s Teacher College’s Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop, EL Achieve (both Constructed Meaning and Systematic ELD), Beyond Diversity, and many others. It is my fundamental belief that being a lifetime learner is an example that my students should see in my pursuit of new opportunities to become a better teacher.
