I provide quick, effective and lasting solutions to organizations facing challenges in their structure, processes and operations. I have retired from the Singapore Land Authority and is currently exploring new opportunities. My previous job was to lease State land and properties for residential, industrial and commercial uses. My challenge then was to breathe new life into old disused buildings awaiting development; balancing between chasing rental value while ensuring such sites remain available for future development. Tanglin Village is a good example where a cluster of old military camp buildings have been revitalized into a lifestyle destination for both locals and tourists alike. To achieve such outcomes, I constantly refined internal processes and challenged my teams to achieve better outcomes. We generated about $500m in annual rental income from our 5,000 properties. Beside leasing, I am also well-versed with sale of State land, issue and management of State leases and compulsory land acquisition.I was previously with the SAF; retiring as a Colonel. My last posting was as the Singapore Defence Attache at our embassy in Kuala Lumpur. I spent four challenging years there promoting good relations between the two armed forces; during the final years of Dr Mahathir's government. The Army was where I developed and refined my problem-solving skills at my various postings in the Combat Engineers and Intelligence Corps. I graduated from the Australian Officer Cadet School in Portsea, Victoria, and did my vocational training as a combat engineer at the Australian Army School of Military Engineering. I obtained my BSc(Hons) in Political Science at NUS while on the SAF Local Scholarship Award.My aspiration is to be able to pay back to society by helping the less fortunate.
