I am a Pharmaceutical Professional with experience both in clinical and pre-clinical research.I have in fact worked in different roles (such as Mental Health, Clinical Trials, Clinical research - with a special interest in population PKPD modeling and dose predictions) and also an experienced computational chemist (having worked in different pre-clinical research projects). My interests:► Psychiatric medicine; ► Clinical trials;► Pharmacometrics, PKPD and PBPK modelling;► Drug dosing prediction and optimization using computational methods;► Pharmacology, evidence-based medicine and clinical pharmacy;► absorption-distribution-metabolism-toxicity (ADMET) studies of drugs;► Knowledge extraction form large amount of data using different statistical tools;► Application of in silico methodologies for drug discovery: protein-structure based drug design (homology modeling, molecular docking, molecular dynamics simulations); ligand-based methods (e.g. SAR and pharmacophore modeling); QM calculations; metabolism and tox predictions; I have directly contributed to several programs across multiple disease areas. I have in-depth experience of working both within academia, hospitals as well as different pharmaceutical industries resulting in several scientific contributions (more than twenty scientific articles/patents/scientific posters/oral communications presented to the scientific community).Additionally, from 2015 I have been studying Philosophy and Theology (obtaining both a MA in Systematic and Philosophical Theology in 2019 and a PhD in Theology in 2022). I am particularly interested in the theological engagement with the latest scientific research in the field of psychiatry. From December 2022 I have been conferred the title of Honorary Post-Doctoral Fellow in Theology at the University of Nottingham. Pharmaceutical Professional (Hospital Clinical Pharmacist)Nhs (As Contractor) Apr 2019 - PresentEnglandI continue to offer my skills as Hospital Clinical Pharmacist (as I did in the my previous roles - but now as Mental Health Pharmacist) for the NHS given my recent specialisation in pharmaceutical sciences tailored for Psychiatric medicine. From April 2019 I offer this service to the NHS as contractor (rather than as employee of the NHS).I am interested to many aspects of academic research in relation to pharmaceutical sciences (from the design of new molecules, to the development of drugs from the pre-clinical studies to the different clinical phases) especially the aspect related to PKPD. A satisfactory aspect of my work has been the ability to witness the clinical effect of medications in helping patients in the clinical settings where I work.

Hospital Clinical PharmacistNhs Jan 2014 - Apr 2019England, UkFrom January 2014 until April 2019 I have been employed by three different NHS Trust in England as Hospital Clinical Pharmacist. In this period, I have covered different roles. From September 2017 to April 2019, I have worked as Clinical Trials and Research Pharmacist with the following responsibilities:• Ensuring implementation of good clinical practice guidelines (GCP) for all clinical trials running in the hospital• Feasibility assessments, contracts and hosted and sponsored studies• Review clinical trial proposals to ensure that all information is available, feasible andcorrect in terms of clinical, technical and dispensary information and documentation.• Work with Trust Research and Development, Sponsors to resolve issues identified in review of clinical trials• Be aware of and keep knowledge up to date of all policies, protocols, standards and guidelinesrelated to Pharmacy and IMP management.• Undertake teaching and training sessions to nursing, medical and pharmacy staff as required.I have been the responsible pharmacist for more than 100 clinical trials in an hospital (see e.g. the acknowledgement in the following clinical trial: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK563841/ )In addition, I have worked in the field of drug dosing predictions using PKPD modelling (e.g. for dose adjustments in patients with low eGFR), therapeutic drug monitoring, and evidence based medicine.See e.g. my work published in Journal of Psychopharmacology (2018), 32, pp. 96–104. See also: https://journals.plos.org/plosmedicine/article/comment?id=10.1371/annotation/fd6dc9ea-ceb7-4906-aa9a-81a9df4647a5I also supervised a master student at the department of Pharmacy (University of Reading):Title of the thesis: "Assessing and comparing the accuracy of three PK models in predicting serum lithium level concentrations giving consideration to influencing factors with the aim of reducing the incidence of lithium-induced renal toxicity".
