Research areas:Network Side Location algorithms for CDMA networks.Estimating vehicular traffic conditions from location date derived from CDMA signaling data analysis.Developed a novel network-side positioning algorithm for CDMA wireless networks. This algorithm improved the positioning accuracy, reducing the average error and standard deviation to one-third of previously developed algorithms in the company.Identified new directions for improving road traffic estimation from cellphone signaling data.Led the implementation of the new algorithms in a external facing prototype, solving the technical challenges for computing hundreds of thousands of location estimates from cellphone signaling data in near real time. The availability of anonymous location and movement estimates created new business opportunities. Created an animation showing the density of calls in Washington DC during three days: before and during Inauguration Day 2009 ( Java, Processing ). The gathering of people in the National Mall area was clearly seen on January 20. This animation was contextualized with images and text and then used to show the potential of this new data to customers, partners, investors and universities.

Developed and maintained computational geometry tools and distributed software components of AirSage's Speed Inferencing Engine (C++). In charge of TMC support (team lead and SE). We created a suite of tools for generating TMC/AlertC compliant report models for our system. Automated road model generation and considerably reduced the time to market. This development allowed the US-wide deployment of TMC-based traffic information.Designed and implemented a Fuzzy Logic decision layer for sensor fusion using different speed sources aimed at improving the accuracy of computed speed in road segments. Also conducted multivariate analysis for improving mobile positioning in CDMA networks.
Participated in the conception and development of VICE: A platform for the Interactive Visualization of Educational Content -- initially focused on teaching math at high school.Developed the interative 3D visualization core (C++) with an AJAX API. Project supported by FONDEF TIC-EDU.
