My work from home journey started in 1996 after having my first child. I began freelancing before working from home was "a thing". I soon realized I needed support and networking but I found nothing available for moms working from home. I took my first step into entrepreneurship by launching my first website -- HBWM.com, a national association for Home-Based Working Mom. HBWM grew to be one of the top work-at-home sites for moms everywhere and eventually led me to starting HireMyMom.com in 2007.

I provided all of the Marketing and PR for Dave Pelz short game golf tour clinics around the US. I became pregnant with my first child within the first year of working there and realized leaving my baby in full-time daycare did not sit well with my heart. It became clear I had to find a way to make working from home a possibility. I had the strongest motivation ever in that precious gift from God which led me on my entrepreneurial journey.

I was awarded the Rotary Ambassador of Goodwill Scholarship to study abroad to obtain my Master's Degree while being an Ambassador and sharing with those in my host country about my country of origin. The coolest thing about winning this scholarship is that I was a first generation college student who paid 100% of my undergrad. I had never applied for a single scholarship so when I decided to apply for scholarships for my master's, I found this -- the biggest (big daddy) scholarship I had found in all my research. And I went for it. AND I GOT IT!! I am forever grateful to the Rotary Foundation for an amazing life-changing experience! They believed in me and it enabled me to believe in myself in even bigger ways!
