Hey LinkedIn, I'm Latoya Shauntay Snell—part endurance athlete, part inclusion advocate, and full-time believer in challenging us all to tell our own dynamic stories. My personal goal is to be a changemaker beyond the fitness and wellness space. I love leading with an open mind, curiosity and speaking boldly. With over 300 races under my belt—marathons, ultramarathons, half marathons, some dashes of duathlons, obstacle course racing and triathlons—I already know people in non-traditionally celebrated bodies are capable of doing it our way. I use sports as a muse to have conversations about body politics, to share my love for the culinary arts, self-acceptance, and leading by example. Perfection is not my goal. I'm invested in encouraging others to try something new.In efforts of not downplaying my accomplishments, here's some of the places I've been and was featured:- Highlighted and amplified by The Root 100 in 2019 as one of the most influential African Americans ages 25 to 45- Featured in 2023’s Sports Illustrated and Empower Onyx's Elle-Evate: 100 Influential Black Women in Sports series for amplifying voices of underrepresented athletes striving for greatness. - Cover model for Runner's World November 2020 issue- Featured on Good Morning America, 3rd Hour Today, Washington Post, The Cut, Travel Noire and more- Partnered with 50+ brands like HOKA, ELOQUII, Summersalt, Gymshark, and TREK Bikes- Keynote speaker and panelist for places like META, HOKA, New York Road Runners, McClatchy, Amazon and moreI leveraged this as an opportunity to step into philanthropy. Each year, I use my race calendar as an opportunity to crowdsource and fundraise for not for profits that amplify marginalized and disabled people. As a chronically ill and multi marginalized woman, I share my story on various social media platforms, do virtual and in person keynote conversations with hopes of empowering others who are directly affected and encouraging allies to uplift our voices. My mission goes beyond racing. It’s pertinent that underrepresented communities of color, the LGBTQ+ community, people with chronic conditions and plus size people are heard. I love approaching hard conversations incorporating a blend of my personal experiences, bit of humor, and loads of humanity.Whether you're an athlete, a changemaker, or just someone looking for inspiration, let's tell better stories together—catch me if you can.
