Previous MDA experience includes supporting System Design and Specification through the design of the integrated BMDS using a disciplined systems engineering process that creates BMDS-level requirements allowing development of new capabilities. Additional experience includes 15 years specializing in Environmental and Safety compliance which includes 8 years at Federal Premium Ammunition, supporting both Shotshell and Centerfire manufacturing operations while overseeing compliance at the onsite Waste Water Treatment Plant per the Industrial Discharge Permit requirements. Duties at Federal included the review/approval of explosive startup operations, facilitation of Safety Teams, Forklift Incident Reduction Teams, Wastewater Treatment Working Group, leading accident investigations, environmental and safety program oversight, and coordination of outside contractor activities to include emergency response/spill clean up, industrial hygiene activities, asbestos abatement, etc. Early in my career, I spent 3 years as an Environmental Health & Safety Consultant working as a stop-gap at various manufacturing facilities nationwide to assist with maintaining compliance with environmental & safety regulations. Facilities ranged from flavor manufacturers, steel bridge fabrication facilities, to metal heat treating facilities, and paint manufacturers just to name a few. I began my career as a government contractor specializing in completion of task orders for U.S. Army Space & Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) and U.S. Aviation Missile Command (USAMCOM) developing NEPA documentation and reviewing the use of regulated chemicals in weapon system refurbishment.
