Kittscouture Vintage Clothing was established in 2002 by Louise Watkiss, selling vintage clothing from the 20's through to the 80's, costume jewellery and accessories.Voted one of the top five vintage clothing shops outside London by 'Tatler' magazine and one of the top 50 boutiques in Britain by The Sunday Telegraph. Also previously featured in 'Marie Claire' and 'She' magazines.Closed Kittscouture in September 2012.

Cornwall And London

My occupation prior to opening Kittscouture was as an Architect. I worked for a number of different architects, initially in Cornwall and then in London. After having my first son I worked part time in an architects office in Dorking before opening my own architectural practice in London. In 1998 I moved back to Cornwall with my two sons and continued to freelance as an architect. After I opened kittscouture I continued in my profession as an architect, working from my computer while running the shop. A few years ago I decided that I no longer wished to take on any more architectural work and would just enjoy running my vintage clothing boutique.

Working in all aspects of architectural design, building and interiors.

Designed interiors for the first few Weatherspoon pubs which were very different to the Weatherspoons today. Then they were designed to look like Victorian pubs. They also had bookshelves of books so that customers could sit and read if the wanted. Apart from the pub interiors I worked mainly on flat conversions and property extensions.
