Professionally I have worked with Lifeline/Childline as a counsellor providing in-person, telephonic, and online counselling services for individuals, families and groups - the counselling covered issues such as financial, mental health, addiction, divorce, abuse, and bereavement. During my time with Lifeline I also worked with the Women & Sports program in Namibia, leading a workshop about gender and gender based violence and how it hinders women from exceling in sports in Namibia. I also participated in an ECPAT International sponsored research project designed to fight against online child exploitation, conducting and transcribing interviews, recording meeting minutes, undertaking archives research and scheduling project activities. In 2019 I worked as a community level coordinator for a 3-month social work public health initiative under the University of Namibia in collaboration with Cardiff University to educate the community about Hepatitis E in the effort to reduce the transmission. My volunteer experiences include serving from 2017-2021 as a neighborhood mobilizer for a community building initiative in Windhoek, Namibia, where I coordinated capacity building activities and programs for children, junior youth, youth and women. I have served in diverse capacities on administrative committees and institutions. From 2014-2015, I served as a security services dispatcher, support officer and guard at the Baha'i World Center in Israel. I have an honors Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Namibia. I have a passion for working on issues of social justice and community building and this is reflected in my professional, academic and volunteer pursuits.
