To become computational biologist, I'm learning bulk RNA-sequencing with my scripts located at https://github.com/canhochoi/Bulk_RNA_seq_learning. Other scripts are stored at https://github.com/canhochoiI have a theoretical mind with an experimental heart. More importantly, I believe in teamwork and self-driven to learn to adapt. My interests are in using and developing theoretical and computational approaches to better understand biological and chemical phenomena. I hope these understanding will guide experiments to ultimately lead to tangible results (i.e. better healthcare, products on the market, etc ...). I have experiences in computational and theoretical aspects. For my current postdoc, I'm working on computational catalysts to get better insights on formic acid dehydrogenation, to find design principles to target CO2 reduction. I'm also working on microkinetic modelling to find the most important chemical steps that govern the overall reaction. For my PhD, I did data analysis and kinetics modelling to understand the mechanism of important enzymes such as ribosomes and F1-ATPase. For my undergrad, I gained experiences working with different types of materials: how to synthesize, characterize and engineer them for specific purposes.Even though I have experiences in theoretical/computational domain, it doesn't mean that I'm not interested in experiments. In contrast, I'm in love with doing experiments. The reason I do theoretical/computational work is that I hope one day I can conduct experiments and explain the experimental results by myself (i.e. enjoying the best of both worlds). Experiments, in my opinion, also broadly include product research and development in the industry.
