The Heirloom Gardens Oral History Project is a collaboration of Princeton University, Spelman College, and the Ujamaa Cooperative Farming Alliance to collect oral histories of people who have worked to preserve Black and Indigenous seed and foodways through the Southeastern United States and Appalachia. Students and faculty work with communities to interview and archive the stories of farmers, gardeners, chefs, community organizers, local historians and others who have been actively sustaining rich farming, culinary, and medicinal traditions. As a Project Manager, LuAnna oversees the transcription, processing, annotating, and archiving for the oral stories collected. They also assist in media design, video creation, and recordings, as well as strategic planning for future interviews and other project logistics.

Assisted in the creation of NOFA’s 2023 winter newspaper issue, focused on seeds and stories. LuAnnacollaborated with the lead editor to produce engaging content for the issue. She also connected seed keepers to the editing team, facilitated interviews with seed keepers, documented transcriptions, edited articles, and con-conspired frequently with co-editor.

Engaged in the documentation and publication of regional seed stories through the creation of a narrative podcast that aimed to document and draw attention to farmers' seed stories in the NE, and now am pursuing oral history conservation around seeds and food in the Southeast.

A lead community organizer for the 2023 Northeast Seed Conference, where she worked with, and learned from, organizers, farmers, breeders, and activists to organize a community seed conference and celebration that brought hundreds of NE community members together for agricultural education, inspiration, and sharing, and am currently still organizing with this group of seed keepers.

Common Roots is an organic and regenerative non-profit farm that centers community food access. My role was comprised of managing farm greenhouses for successful propagation and cultivation of plants, leading crop plantings and produce harvesting, managing interns, and assisting in all farm duties.

Spent a semester as a teacher's assistant for an entry level Community Development and Applied Economics class.

Spent a semester assisting in collecting, organizing, and analyzing community consumer Hemp data to support the work of Hemp producers in the US.
