Mi misión es defender los derechos y el bienestar de los inmigrantes al proporcionar servicios legales de calidad y accesibles, especialmente a la comunidad hispanohablante, a la que sirvo como intérprete, asesora y representante legal.Lucy is a US immigration attorney assisting immigrants before Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR) and United States Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS) — with extensive experience in Family - Based petitions, Cancellation of Removal, and Asylum applications. She has also conducted legal investigation surrounding detainees in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) custody. The legal system can be complex and intimidating when first encountered, however, Ms. Freeman believes in educating and empowering her clients through every step. Lucy has led special projects and internal education workshops for teams on immigration concepts and strategic solutions. She has also developed internal processes and tailored workflows to best stay on top of the changes in the law and improve client experience.Ms. Freeman earned her J.D. from Birmingham's Cumberland School of Law at Samford and her double B.S. in Psychology and Latin American Studies as an Individually Designed Major (IDM) from the University of Alabama - Birmingham (UAB).Lucy has come to call Birmingham, AL home; born in Dothan, Alabama, and lived her formative years in Latin America, she moved back stateside and nestled in the Magic City. Over the years she has sought to creatively merge years of legal training, customer service, and her love of engaging diverse communities. Some of her favourite pastimes involve grassroots outreach, culinary endeavors, and local sports. When not actively engaged with the public, Ms. Freeman enjoys spending time with her dogs and tortoise.
