Members of the New York Chapter represent all aspects of waste and materials management and come from state and municipal government agencies, private companies, engineering, legal and financial consultants, as well as private citizens with an interest in advancing the state’s materials management practices. Luann has more than 16 years of experience with a wide range of environmental projects, including solid waste management, residential and commercial site assessments, asbestos surveys, and Phase II soil and groundwater investigations. Luann has extensive experience in landfill expansion and landfill gas-to-energy plant permitting projects, as well as landfill compliance projects. In recent years, Luann has been project manager for Monroe County and Waste Management's Mill Seat Landfill Expansion project. As project manager, Luann has been integral at keeping this project's schedule moving forward, maintaining communication among the various subconsultants and parties involved, and overseeing the SEQRA component of the project. Most importantly, keeping the key stakeholders involved and informed has been a goal of Luann's as this project has progressed. In addition, Luann has been most recently involved with several local solid waste management plans throughout New York State for various planning units, including Monroe County's Plan. She has succeeded in creating a strong relationship with the DEC to keep the LSWMP review process moving forward as quickly as possible.

*Involvement with the High Acres Landfill and Recycling Center’s 156-acre Phase III expansion in the Towns of Macedon and Perinton. Instrumental in completing the supplemental draft and final environmental impact statements and coordinated the preparation of the design report and drawings. The issues that were addressed included filling a wetland, impacts on storm water, sewer use, traffic, odors, visual resources, vectors and noise.*Assisted Waste Management, Inc. with the permit application for an expansion to their landfill gas to energy (LFGE) plant. The *Compiled quarterly groundwater analytical data, analyzed results and completed quarterly monitoring reports for a closed municipal solid waste landfill in Western New York.*Project Manager for various Phase I Environmental Site Assessment projects throughout New York State, which has included training and supervising several professionals to complete various types of Phase I ESAs. As a project manager, I have also been responsible for proposal preparation, project setup, accounting and invoicing of projects.*Completed over 100 Phase I Environmental Site Assessments for various sites throughout Western New York, including residential properties (i.e., dwellings, apartment complexes/buildings) and commercial properties (i.e., gasoline stations, dry cleaners, retail complexes, marinas, farms, former orchards, golf course, tool and die facilities). *Phase II Subsurface investigations involving Geoprobe sampling techniques at multiple commercial and industrial properties in Western New York.*Collected and compiled analytical data for various commercial and industrial sites throughout Western New York, including Brownfield Sites.*Soil sampling, groundwater sampling, water level monitoring, and air monitoring activities related to subsurface contamination at a brownfield site in Rochester, New York.

*Conducted daily effluent wastewater sampling events at Rochester area industries *Supervised household hazardous waste collections and a crew of six workers *Collected and entered data in StarLIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) *Provided general office support
