I have recently been asked to consolidate all of the learning and development work that we do here at Challenges into a new department which we have called "Challenges Learning"

My role had many elements to it but is essentially about coordinating our overseas network and then linking people preparing to share their skills overseas with the relevant people in country.I manage our representatives in the countries where we work, working with them to assess and analyze organisations, draw up a programme of inputs and then recruit professionals to work in those organisations delivering the programme of work on a voluntary basis.I am also responsible for helping people to prepare for their time overseas through facilitating a pre-departure workshop and co-ordinating logistics. I then provide supervision and support for people while they are overseas including working with them to delvelop the elements of their work which will contribute towards obtaining professional qualifications.
