I am a developer of plasma and rarefied gas simulation codes for spacecraft electric propulsion and spacecraft contamination control. The contamination codes have been used in support of NASA and private industry missions such as MMS, GOES-R, Restore-L, TESS, ExoMars, STPSat-6, ELSAH, JWST, and Dragonfly. My plasma codes have been used to simulate Hall effect and ion thrusters, their plume-spacecraft interaction, and for fusion reactor feasibility studies. Numerical method used by these codes are covered in my books "Plasma Simulations by Example" (CRC Press, 2019), and "Introduction to Modern Scientific Programming and Numerical Methods” (CRC Press, 2024). I also have experience with laboratory testing of plasma thrusters and performing spacecraft bakeouts and thermal vacuum tests.Additionally I work as a lecturer at the USC Department of Astronautical Engineering, where I teach classes on scientific computing (ASTE-404), computational plasma physics (ASTE-546), contamination control (ASTE-599), and co-advise the student club ASPEN focusing on building advanced spacecraft propulsion thrusters (AME-491). I also mentor various graduate students researching topics related to contamination transport, lunar regolith transport, and spacecraft charging (ASTE-591). I am also an editor for the Journal of Electric Propulsion (JEP), a vice-chair of the Buenaventura chapter of IEEE, and officer in the San Fernando Valley chapter of AIAA. Every summer I teach online plasma simulation classes through particleincell.com.Skills: Particle In Cell Method (PIC), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), magneto-hydrodynamics (MHD), Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC), high performance computing (MPI/CUDA/OpenMP), contamination control, spacecraft I&T, space environment interaction, C, C++, Java, Python, Fortran, Matlab, OpenFOAM, HTML5, graphics programming, Javascript, WebGL, Arduino microcontrollers, FPGAs/Verilog, optimization, machine learning.
Listed skills include Fluid Dynamics, Plasma Physics, Scientific Computing, Simulations, and 30 others.
