As Digital Practice Manager my goal is to improve Perkins+Will’s design process through the comprehensive development and integration of computational design tools and workflows. I work closely with our research department to carry out initiatives focused on furthering the field of computational design, and with studio leaders and project teams, in each of Perkins+Will's 20+ offices worldwide, to translate those research efforts into effective methods of working, enabling them to deliver the highest quality designs as efficiently as possible.

I serve as the Design Application Manager and Computational Designer supporting the San Francisco office of Perkins + Will. My responsibilities include BIM planning, implementation and management as well as developing and delivering software training to the technical staff. In addition to supporting project teams I create computational tools that weave data and parametric systems into architectural design.

Residential design, from high end houses to multi-family affordable housing. Duties included significant code research, permitting, drawing production and consultant management.

Developed 3D modeling and drawing standards for a modular prefab housing company adopting the Revit platform. Extensive development of custom families, integration of database information and plug-in creation using the Revit API. Trained the entire staff of 50+ designers in 3 offices. Managed a team of designers for asset creation and beta testing of new methods.

Assisted the building technologies and studio departments in coordinating conferences and studio coursework for Masters of Architecture students. Duties involved significant scheduling and management tasks as well as one-on-one guidance and technical assistance to students in developing their projects.

Research and design of low cost, energy saving and environmentally sensitive prefab building system which expands on the firm’s first place entry in the Global Green competition to rebuild housing for residents of New Orleans in the wake of hurricane Katrina.

Managed teams of 2-4 designers to produce printed marketing materials for the motorsports and outdoor industries. Worked directly with the Creative Director to organize and run on-location photoshoots across the country. Oversaw print runs of up to $1million for clients such as BMW, Ducati, Triumph and Suzuki.

Designed rock climbing gyms of up to 50,000 sq.ft. to be constructed nationwide, from conceptual design, based on client input, through the production of shop drawings and documentation for on-site construction crews.

Led crews of 2-12 in construction of rock climbing walls throughout the U.S. Welding, carpentry and finish plasterwork were all components of the construction process. Site management duties included scheduling labor, estimating timelines as well as inspecting and certifying completed work.
