- Designing GT blades and vanes cooling systems: CFD analyses, 2D and 3D thermal models, validation against dedicated measurements campaigns, both in steady state and transient conditions.- Development and validation of 2D and 3D procedures with the aim to estimate heat transfer coefficients, both in the internal cooling systems and in the external flowpath.- Creation of engine flow networks for thermal and performance assessment.- Coordination of design activities of cooled components.- Definition of experimental campaign aimed to validate and expand the application range of numerical correlations.- Development of numerical tools to postprocess and elaborate numerical and measurements data.- Designing of cooled measurement systems.- Multiphase CFD studies of components cooled by oil injections (such as bearings and parts of electrical engines).
