This included the optimisation of microbial fermentations, the investigation of stress responses via multi omics analysis, and the development of tolerant microbial strains by adaptive evolution or reverse engineering. During this time, I was also an advisor of the University of Nottingham iGEM team in 2017, I supervised several PhD and DTP students, and I have organised various STEM outreach events. -
Post Doctoral Research AssociateUniversity Of Nottingham May 2015 - Apr 2016I have designed and constructed an E. coli strain which ferments xylose through a novel, carbon efficient metabolic route. I then optimised this novel metabolic pathway with cycles of combinatorial assembly and screening. I have also taught a synthetic biology teaching module for undergraduates and postgraduates.
