After graduating in Economics from the University of Freiburg, I worked as a researcher for the Office of Economic Research (URE) in Ticino and as a financial journalist for the daily newspaper Corriere del Ticino, where I served as the Editor-in-Chief for the economic and financial pages. Additionally, I contributed to the Swiss Italian-speaking television.My banking career began at Banca del Gottardo in 1987, where I became a member of the Executive Board, initially responsible for Private Banking activities and later for the Corporate Center. In 2007, I was appointed to the Executive Board of PKB, where I remained until 2017.In October 2017, I was nominated to the Board of Directors of Banca dello Stato del Cantone Ticino, first holding a seat in the Project Committee and subsequently serving in the Audit Committee.I have served as a member of various organizations, including the National Employer's Commission for the Swiss Banks, the Executive Committee of the Ticino Banking Association, the Swiss Institute of Rome Foundation Board, the Board of Directors of Banca del Gottardo (Italy) SpA, the Board of Directors of Banca Intermobiliare SpA, and several other financial institutions. I have also taught at the Centro Studi Bancari and the University of Lugano (USI), where I lectured on "Banking Strategies" for Master's students in Finance.Currently, I am a Board member of the Swiss Finance Institute, where I serve on the Audit Committee. Since 2017, I have been an independent management advisor specializing in finance, governance, extraordinary transactions, M&A issues, and operating cost analysis. In 2019, I was appointed Chairman of SPP Cost Control SA, a company I co-founded, which focuses on optimizing the management costs of private and public entities. I'm a Board member of Altrafin AG, a private asset and investment management company headquartered in Zurich. Additionally, I serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors of EnerimpulsE SA, an independent advisory company specializing in the energy market and efficiency.I am the Chairman of the Board of TIVENIx SA, a start-up company which developed an Alzheimer diadnostic based on a AI-powered platform decoding the epigenetic signature of AD in plasma. I have been invited to support the launch of the Clinical Research Fund, a collaboration between EOC and the USI biomedical faculty. I am also a member of the Board of the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana (www.conservatorio.ch).
