Welcome to my profile! My name is Luca von der Werth and I am currently a Software Engineer at Hannover Re. As a member of the QA team, I am mainly working on the development of a tool for test automation and the automated management of infrastructure for these tests. Our development team is agile, cross-functional and self-organised.In addition to the aforementioned tool, I also frequently work with Helm charts and Jenkins pipelines.I am particularly proud of my appearances as a speaker at internal developer conferences, especially my appearance at HDI AG's CODEx 2023. There, together with two colleagues, I spoke to around 100 participants about the opportunities and risks of using AI tools in software development - it was a complete success.Furthermore, I am also part of various organisational teams, including a team that is working on the introduction of an AI coding assistant and a team that organises internal exchange sessions for software developers.Apart from my work at Hannover Re, I spend a lot of my free time working on IT, software development and related topics. For example, I have developed my own 2-factor authenticator app (TOTP) as I was missing some specific features in the existing apps. Another application I recently developed allows me to control the volume of the different audio channels on my PC via other devices, for example a smartphone.I mainly work with Java, Dart (+ Flutter), Bash and PowerShell, but I also have basic experience with HTML, CSS, TypeScript, JavaScript, C# and Go.There are many more private projects that I work on in my spare time - if you would like to know more about these projects, feel free to contact me!Another relevant hobby is my home server. I host various services on my server, for example a password manager, financial tools, document management systems, a Git server, various small helpful tools and much more. I also administer my own router and fairly complex network with several VLANs and self-managed, partly redundant DNS, DHCP and NTP servers. My goal for the medium to long-term future is to become a software architect, as this topic fascinates me greatly - small decisions can have a large impact there.
