About Luca Bresciani

I am a professional with a passion for innovation in engineering, driven by results, thoroughness and communication in my everyday job, beside the desire to work in a friendly environment and grow in in a group that shares my attitude. My working experience so far can be summarised as: since June 2019 I've been working in Lilium, now as Landing Gear System Technical Lead of a 6 people group, and at the start as structural engineer. Before, I worked as a design engineer on aerospace braking systems, in the aerospace R&D division of Brembo s.p.a.My previous role was stress engineer on turbines blades at Rolls-Royce. I joined Rolls-Royce as an Engineering Graduate Trainee in September 2014. From November 2013 to August 2014 I did a research year at the Politecnico di Milano, studying ballistic impacts on composite-ceramic protections. In October 2013 I ended the studies in Mechanical engineering at the Politecnico of Milano. My hobbies are motorcycle riding, chess, travelling, Arduino, cooking, reading, movies, playing tennis and in the past basketball, and skiing (quite a lot of hobbies, but not all at the same time :) ).

  • Politecnico Di Milano
    Researcher
Politecnico Di Milano Nov 2013 - Aug 2014
    Milano
PhD (dropped out) - The fragmentation of hard materials (such as Tungsten) with brittle behaviour under impact conditions and the modelling of multi layers composites (Kevlar29) and ceramics (Alumina 99.5) were at the heart of the research activity; great importance was given to the modelling of the impact phenomenon with numerical models (F.E.A), especially by means of the solvers LS-Dyna and Abaqus CAE. The work done during this period was captured in 4 papers that have then been published on international journals.
