Lead the technical development of the Pegasus aircraft landing gear system up to system test qualification, with the following main responsibilities:- managing an engineering team of 6 people comprising stress, design, system engineering, validation and verification. Scrum agile approach to tasks definition and supervision on a sprint basis. People performance assessment.- conducting system design trade studies to determine the most efficient architecture in respect to weight, development leadtime, manufacturing complexity and cost, by using a systematic approach through several disciplines (analytical and numerical calculation, performance, structural sizing, project scheduling) and communicating with systems and functions.- preparing and presenting technical reviews and documentation (technical reports, presentations) with chief engineering, certification authorities.- suppliers technical steering. Definition and approval of technical specifications, design solutions and validation, test activities via formal reviews and communication (ECMs).- preparation, check and approval of system documentation for engineering gates: System Description Document, System Requirement Document, Safety document (SFHA, PSSA), System Development Plan, Stress Report, Certification Plan.- collaboration with procurement, program and supply chain to select suppliers. Preparation of Statement of Works in support of contract negotiations and definition.

My tasks and responsibilities, in a dynamic and lively start-up environment, fulfill those of a traditional structural engineer and go beyond. Let´s give it a look:- FEM (Hyperworks environment) and analytical verification of composite CFRP and metallic structural components. Additional works done on Multi Body Dynamics (MotionView)- system and sub-system architecture design: contribution to the design choices for several structures and electromechanical equipment, applying know-how from my previous working experience. Issuing several System level documents, such as System Description Documents, Interface Documents, System Requirements Document, etc.- management of suppliers interaction for the development of specific structural systems: workshops technical point of contact, reports issuing, interaction with procurement department, issuing of RFI, RFP documents, influencing strategic technical decisions within the Integrated Project Team - system requirements validation and verification process (according to ARP 4754): heavy contribution to writing requirements at system level, validation at aircraft level- contribution to the interaction with the certification authorities for the development of the certification basis; involvement in face to face (screen to screen nowadays) with EASA.

Design and development of an electro-mechanically actuated brake system for CS-23 aircrafts; main responsibilities:• Design, verification and requirements technical management of an electro-mechanical actuator for an innovative aeronautical brake system. Responsible for the design of the actuator system layout, components specific design and verification through F.E.M. assessment & other tools (Abaqus, Marc Msc, Kissoft, Matlab, Optistruct). I have supported the work of a younger designer, the integration of the actuator with the electronics, with the brake system and the definition of the testing phase• Management of PhD activities funded by Brembo at the University of Trento for the development of new friction materials: I've been in charge of the activities definition and planning for the PhD candidate during the 3 years’ period, analysis of results criticalities and improvements of testing methods, integration and application of the results to the company's internal products development• Drafting of reports to the EU as deliverables for the funded Clean Sky2 project.

PhD (dropped out) - The fragmentation of hard materials (such as Tungsten) with brittle behaviour under impact conditions and the modelling of multi layers composites (Kevlar29) and ceramics (Alumina 99.5) were at the heart of the research activity; great importance was given to the modelling of the impact phenomenon with numerical models (F.E.A), especially by means of the solvers LS-Dyna and Abaqus CAE. The work done during this period was captured in 4 papers that have then been published on international journals.
