Traxal is a MRP for the food industry that allows foods traceability, inventory control and handling of inventories, records HACCP quality controls, monitors production data, organizes the execution of orders and logistics.TRAXAL ranks among the leading products in the Italian food industry and it is currently used by more than 70 industries with more than 500 active installations.My role involves a temporary-management contract for one year with the aim to introduce new development technologies, programming languages and train them during the design / development of the basic components for the new TRAXAL software.Goals:- Introduction of Microsoft .Net and C# as main programming language.- Adoption of best practices for code versioning using GIT- Designing the basic framework for the development of new TRAXAL software, using WPF, Winform and Entity Framework.Other roles:- Design and development of integration software between SAP and the current TRAXAL software.

TravelPeople (http://www.travelpeople.it) is a project of social network for the Italian travel industry. Presented at BIT (Borsa Internazionale del Turismo) 2009 fair in Milan (Italy), it is currently in development with new features and updated with the latest technologies.The website has almost 250K registered users and it is accessed by 1,5-2K users per day.The development team is composed by 3-4 developers and 2 graphic designers and it's successfully managed with Agile methodologies.Roles:- As Software Engineer: restructure the existing code-base to bring back the project to a technical consistency allowing frequent deploy and fast reaction to changes, filling the technical debt inherited from the previous development team. - As Project Manager: collect requirements and translate in tasks for the development team, plan and assign the priorities to assure the respect of deadlines and cooperate with the team to define the best technologies and methodologies to employ to face and solve any specific problem.Goals:- Bring back the code-base to a consistent and releasable state in about 30 days.- Reorganize the team defining roles and responsibilities, introducing missing figures such as senior developers and art director.- Obtain a quick reaction to changes and demands of the customer while maintaining a high quality and maintainability of the software, introducing Agile development methodologies (SCRUM).- Maintain constant times and costs of development, increasing the quality and introducing a deep refactoring of the existing code base.
