My journey in the workforce started at College Action Planning Solutions where I began to develop real skills and knowledge. In this job I predominantly was focused on collecting demographic information for this new and growing company that would allow them to pinpoint their customer and who they will sell to. I formed an excel sheet with information about all schools within the State of Florida. If they reached our desired criteria then I would dig deeper and find methods of contact for people in decision making positions.During the same time period in which I was working at College Action Planning Solutions I was also working as a food runner at Duffy's Sports Bar and Grill, this experience eventually led me to becoming a server in the ensuing summer. Through my experience at Duffy's it taught me many valuable lessons in multiple areas of a workplace including relationships with coworkers and how to handle customers. At times I would need to adjust to problems or changes that would occur making me become more flexible and comfortable in different situations. I currently hold a position as a leasing specialist with Redstone Residential at their College Place FSU location. This position further developed my customer service skills and also helped me improve in areas I was not familiar with prior. During leasing season I had to market through social media and other networks in order to allow us to generate more leads so that those could in turn become residents. I helped College Place this year reach full leasing capacity in record time, and I beleive it was through my marketing attempts which boosted the number of leads we have had in comparison to prior years. I also improved on negotiation skills, understanding leases, and the leasing process itself. This summer I will be a market sales intern for Signal which I am greatly looking forward to as this would be another great experience under my belt.
