Leading a Global Project Team to develop novel oncology therapeutics

Small Start-Up where I wore many hatsLeader of the group responsible for Sopherion’s Discovery Technology set-up. Responsible for scouting and evaluating in-licensing clinical opportunities in Oncology. Later on responsible for discovery and preclinical development of peptide leads with indications in cancer, AIID and osteoporosis.

My first industry positionPromoted twice from Research Scientist to Project Leader Initially involved in the Genentech-CuraGen collaboration as project coordinator for genomics-based approaches to cellular and transgenic animal models of angiogenesis and tumor progression.Later on I became the leader of the group responsible for the discovery of novel Oncology genomics targets and for the in vitro validation of the resulting antibodies in the CuraGen-Abgenix collaboration. One of these antibodies, CR011, is in Ph.1 clinical trial.
