I qualify and improve the etch processes in the South Portland semiconductor fab.

I deconstruct semiconductor devices and then use optical and/or scanning electron microscopy to characterize them. I also perform elemental analysis with energy dispersion X-ray spectroscopy and conduct circuit editing with focused ion beams. In addition to normal operations, I engage in the continuous improvement of lab operations by optimizing workflows and designing new S.O.P.'s. I successfully integrated a new TESCAN Solaris FIB/SEM system into our department's lab and currently conduct training for new users.

Through my graduate work I have gained experience in nanoscale synthesis, 3D printing, Atomic Force Microscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy, Molecular Dynamics, and programming in the following languages: C/C++/C#, bash, fortran, and Python. I am also proficient with research programs like: Origin, VMD, Mendeley, and LaTeX.
