My first proper job after High School: Managing HR and internal projects.It started as a 2 month internship when Kolibri Games (formerly Fluffy Fairy Games) had less than 10 employees. I still remember my job interview in the bedroom of one of the founders before we even had a proper office.I grew into the role quickly and did a bit of everything, mostly because there was a lot of work for not many people in a rapidly growing startup.Somehow, I ended up as the Project Manager and interviewed hundreds of applicants, managed applications & set up trial work. I also did a bit of community management on the side and managed internal projects like the translation of our game into over 20 languages with external partners. But HR was still the main focus.While I was doing HR we grew the company from roughly 15 employees to 70. I left the company just shy of 1.5 years because they moved from Karlsruhe to Berlin and I got a remote offer from a different company, giving me the chance to stay in Karlsruhe. Shortly after, Kolibri Games was acquired by Ubisoft to become part of Ubisoft Mobile.The time at Kolibri made me the confident person I am today. They threw everything at me and I learned to deal with it, it was great. And while at times I was ready to throw in the towel, I'm grateful I got the chance to get this much responsibility and even represent the company during the Startup Gipfel in Stuttgart in 2017 at such a young age.They taught me a lot, let me make countless mistakes and are the reason why I am running my own business today.
