Lucas Barta is an Associate with King & Spalding’s Corporate, Finance, and Investments (“CFI”) practice. Previously, Lucas was an Associate Attorney with Morrison & Foerster LLP’s Corporate practice in McLean, VA. His practice focuses on counseling clients in general corporate and transactional matters, including financings of small and large scale and mergers and acquisitions.Lucas is an alumni of Washington & Lee University School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif and served as Executive Editor of the Washington and Lee Law Review. Lucas was a Staffwriter for the Washington & Lee Law Review and a Kirgis Fellow for the incoming class in 2015–2016. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Political Science.Lucas worked with Morrison Foerster LLP as a Summer Associate with their Corporate Practice in Tyson's Corner, VA for the summer of 2016. In the summer of 2015, Lucas completed a judicial internship with Judge Robert J. Humphreys at the State Court of Appeals in Virginia Beach, VA. Prior to graduating law school, Lucas spent time as an intern at Harrity & Harrity LLP, a Fairfax VA-based intellectual property law firm.
