I recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering from UB in June 2018 and have passed my Fundamentals of Engineering exam. I transferred from Corning Community College after earning an associate's degree in Engineering Science in May 2016. I have learned and continue to learn many ways that I can become a better and more professional engineer.My experiences from college have taught me a lot of skills that will help my career. I learned how to manage being a full time student and a part time worker. I have been able to balance my time as a student and a worker while also making time for my family. I learned how to effectively communicate and work with others as a team and accomplish different goals. I am able to break down complicated problems and perform difficult engineering calculations. I have the professors and fellow people I have worked with and learned from to thank for these skills I have learned. My work experience at CemeCon Inc. has also been very valuable to me.I work with a lot of great people who are very professional and team oriented. I am learning a lot about working in a professional industrial setting. I'm seeing the value of the customer and their satisfaction. I work in a variety of areas and am understanding more about how product can flow through a company. I am gaining insight as to how problems are addressed and the paths to a solution. I also get the experience of helping others within the company to solve these problems. I am fortunate to work with these great people and gain useful experience from them.I am very interested in careers where I can be involved in the protection of public health, such as drinking or wastewater treatment plants.
