I started off riding with technicians as a helper around the age of 12. By age 14 I would maintain the inventory in the basement of the space we rented along with taking care of cutting up and disposing scrap metal from jobs. From here I was given my first job title by one of the technician's as a "Soil Relocation Engineer" as I would go on most of our sewer repairs where we would dig back then with shovels up to 8ft deep to repair the sewer.By 16 I was running basic plumbing service calls. When there were not calls I would work on various projects such as designing truck stock, working on our pricebook, I would maintain the trucks including basic repairs and would even paint the trucks red through our rebrand. From here I went to college and continued to work as a tech at nights and weekends. During the day I began working on marketing as we often didn't have enough calls to keep the technician's busy. As the internet was just starting to get used more for search I focused on learning and implementing SEO & PPC strategies. Around this time I also decided to take over overnight calls and would dispatch techncian's after hours. If I was unable to get a technician out to the home I would often go myself.Around 20 I started playing a general manager role; I would build and implement new bonus plans, hold company meetings and complete financial reviews. From about age 20 - 24 I would consistently take on more and more duties until eventually I was able to justify booting my father out of his office.
