Completion of the West Coast EMT accelerated evening training course in Basic Life Support and preparation for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians licensing exam. Training incorporated comprehensive lectures covering human anatomy and physiology, the pathophysiology of cardiac and pulmonary emergencies, neurologic emergencies, trauma and treatment, and the structure of the EMS system. Additionally, I completed two mandatory ride alongs with MedReach and Falck in which I was able to shadow and assist paramedics and AEMTs in vitals and lead placements. Graduation from this course required mastery of the following skills:-CPR and cardiac arrest management-Medical assessment-Trauma assessment-BVM ventilation and O2 administration-Narcan administration-Bleeding control-Spinal Immobilization with a backboard-Long Bone and Joint Immobilization
