LSUS has been focused on creating a championship atmosphere for student-athletes athletically, academically and socially. LSUS has claimed 31 RRAC championships, made 30 national tournament appearances (NAIA men's basketball Fab Four in 2018 and World Series in 2021 & 2022) and propelled more than half of its student-athletes to GPA's of 3.0 or better. The department has also steadily increased their overall GPA each year of Morgan's tenure and finished SP 24 with an eighth straight semester with over a 3.0 GPA. The Pilots have enjoyed 48 NAIA All-American selections and 254 all-conference recognitions.LSUS is a mainstay in the Shreveport community with thousands of hours of team support. For their efforts LSUS has twice been named an NAIA Champions of Character Five Star Institution.Morgan leads the efforts of the LSUS athletic booster club (Crew Club) and the department's overall fundraising activities. The budget and scholarships have also more than doubled during his tenure.Athletic facility construction has included numerous upgrades to Pilot Field which includes a new brick clubhouse, an improved brick and wrought iron entrance and dugouts, a brick backstop with extended safety netting, new turf in the indoor training facility and bullpens, a new outfield wall that extends down both foul lines, and a new scoreboard. The Pilots' basketball gym received LED lighting and the addition of chair back seating. Upgrades to the soccer complex includes a new brick locker room. The field has new bleachers with a climate-controlled press box, and a high end TifTuf Bermuda grass playing surface. There has also been new construction on the tennis courts and significant upgrades to the basketball locker rooms are set to be completed in the coming months.Awards and honors: 2nd VP -NAIA Athletics Directions Association, member-NAIA National Administrative Council, 2-time RRAC Athletic Director of the Year.
