I acted as a Teaching Assistant for two classes of 'Portuguese as a Foreign Language' (PFL) to undergraduate exchange students from several countries during a two-year period. I used this experience to conduct the research on my MA dissertation (peer-feedback amongst PFL beginner learners).

As an FLTA, I spent one academic year at The Catholic University of America, in Washington D.C. My responsibilities involved, but were not limited to: - providing a youthful, up-to-date component to Brazilian Portuguese classes. - making studying Brazilian Portuguese in the United States more meaningful and real. - sharing the Brazilian culture and values outside of the classroom by joining clubs and becoming involved in the community. - being able to speak first-hand about the United States, its culture, and its people when back in Brazil. - engaging in academic study that would enrich my postgraduate studies and enhance my professional development.
