Profile bio

About Lucas Rolison

I have a passion for nuclear science and engineering and software engineering. I am a self taught Python programmer. My interests are always expanding as I get the opportunity to work on new projects. My PhD was on developing new X-ray backscatter imaging techniques for non destructive testing and medical imaging. I did so by testing prototype designs using Monte Carlo simulations (MCNP) along with extensive Python scripting and the University of Florida's high performance computing cluster. One such Python project can be found on GitHub ( under my contact info or https://github.com/rolison/2DBackscatterImaging ).Current work involves advance variance reduction techniques for Monte Carlo analysis of small solid angle radiation transport, developing python tools for automating workflows, and computational image analysis.

Listed skills include Python, Matlab, Mcnp, Data Analysis, and 9 others.
