• Road and block design/layout.• Timber cruising/evaluation.• Stream/wetland/riparian assessments.• Wildlife awareness and safety.• Offices duties such as report writing and map building using ArcMap, Micro station, Road eng and more.• Extensive use of mapping hardware including Arrow/Garmin GPS receivers, various lasers for measuring distances, tree heights, gradients etc.• Extensive use of mapping software including Avenza and EOS tools on tablet computers when working outside.• Liaising with clients including government bodies such as The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and BC Timber Sales. As well as private timber licence companies such as Louisiana Pacific, Downie Timber and Revelstoke Community Forest.

• Identification of tree species.• Chainsaw use: bucking logs and falling small trees and safe operation of a woodchipper.• Working on the side of busy highways.• Driving 5-ton trucks.• Working mainly around electrical powerlines for BC hydro but also on private property for individual clients.

• Experience using a large variety of power tools.• Completing flooring, dry walling, painting, kitchen installation, knocking interior walls through safely while considering weight bearing walls, window and door installations.• Heavy lifting and hard physical labour for long days.• Respecting and following all safety regulations.• Lots of truck driving and loading experience.• Brick laying and cement mixing.

• Working outside in all weather for 10 hours per day.• Hard physical work.• Mentally challenging piece work.• Being part of a team, shared responsibilities around camp and while working in the bush.• Working with 25kg bags, walking up and down very steep land in Canadian mountains, averaging 16km per day.
