Serves the Terry Office of Instructional Technology. Duties include:- Support departments, faculty, and/or teaching assistants in the creation and/or utilization of instructional multimedia, web course management systems, and best teaching practices. - Perform regular checks on classroom technologies and report incidents when needed- Work with Instructional Support team to help faculty create and populate online or hybrid courses- Train faculty, MBA staff, and students on effective and efficient technology usage- Provide assistance and consultation on online course management software, multimedia applications, and other programs.- Provide Instructional Technology support to Terry events

Served the UGA Office of International Education and fulfilled the following duties:- Advised incoming international students before, during, and after their exchange program at the University of Georgia.- Created and maintained online applications, as well as generated reports using data from GoAbroad, UGA’s online study abroad application system and database.- Designed and developed videos and online handbooks for UGA study abroad programs- Communicated with and hosted webinars for study abroad coordinators in universities worldwide - Planned events for incoming exchange students (e.g., Welcome Reception), and for outgoing domestic students (e.g., OIE Open House). - Collaborated with UGA offices on campus to address student issues such as Food Services, Campus Reservations, Immigration Services, and more.

As an instructor of record, I taught an EDIT 2000 course called Introduction to Computers for Teachers. The purpose of this class was to teach pre-service teachers to use and manage technology for instructional purposes, as well as communicating means for integrating technology in K-12 education.

Worked for the UGA Department of Anthropology on a research project funded by the National Science Foundation. The project investigated vulnerability and resilience to climate change (e.g., droughts) in six geo-climatic zones (municipalities) in Northeast Brazil. - Coded and analyzed data from questionnaires and interviews administered to general population and administrators in each municipality between 2000 and 2012. - Wrote reports to present results on the impact of climate change on several socioeconomic factors (e.g., access to food, education, per capita income, and others). - Traveled to Brazilian municipalities with a team of researchers from the University of Georgia and Arizona State University to deliver research reports and present results to mayors in each municipality.

Received a scholarship for emerging undergraduate research scientists funded by the Federal University of Ceara (2008-2009) and the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (2009-2011). The scholarship entailed work on several research projects such as use of technology to foster collaborative academic writing, linguistic practices in web 2.0 environments, hypertextuality, hypermodality, and more. As an undergraduate research scientists, Lucas collaborated with members of the research group Hiperged (Hypertext and Digital Genres), collected and analyzed data, wrote several manuscripts and technical reports, and presented research results at national and international conventions.
