I conducted all relevant Field Organizing activities for the MNA's Campaign for Safe Patient Limits in 3 Massachusetts State Senate districts: Norfolk, Bristol, & Plymouth; Norfolk & Plymouth; and Plymouth & Norfolk. These included volunteer recruitment, canvassing (including in-the-field organizing and cutting turf with VAN), and conducting weekly phone banks using Hubdialer.- Consistently exceeded, and frequently doubled, all standardized metrics for campaign organizers, including signatures gathered, doors knocked, phone calls made, and corresponding “Yes/Lean Yes” percentages.- Without a bargaining unit from which to pull volunteers, conducted recruitment and outreach predominantly through cold calls and networking to ensure each canvass shift had 3-4 nurses and covered at least 200 doors.- Independently identified a flaw in the campaign GOTV plan, and advocated through the chain of command to fix the issue, enabling a statewide shift in resources that increased Election Day voter contacts by over 100,000 without adding any new volunteers.

I conducted independent research and compiled data on the Common Core State Standards Initiative for Professor Susan Moffitt at the Taubman Center for American Politics and Policy at Brown University.- Retrieved, compiled, and updated multi-year administrative datasets on implementation of Common Core across fifty states and D.C., including state education department budgetary capacity and metadata related to all state legislation implementing the standards.- Retrieved a sample of 13,000 newspaper articles mentioning Common Core across ten years from top-circulating newspapers in all fifty states and D.C., and collated these into an archival dataset organized by state and year; flagged and remedied a document naming convention error that could have stalled the project significantly.- Provided quality control support for technical research reports for the Getting Down to Facts II project (led by Stanford University), including proofreading, reference checking, and interview quote validation.

As a democracy coach, I taught high school students an action-based civics curriculum, planning and adapting lessons, ultimately facilitating a civics project in which the students create positive change in their community by interacting with their state and local government. In Fall 2014, my 9th grade class won the Best Overall Project and Presentation for high school students; in Spring 2016, my 8th grade class won the Best Overall Project and Presentation for middle school students.
