I am currently studying business with the Beedie school of business at SFU. I spent almost 2 years studying engineering where I further developed my strong problem-solving ability and critical thinking. I have a strong interest in finance and economic theory. I am comfortable working with numbers and using or interpreting statistics. I am confident in my ability to learn and apply mathematical concepts to solve complex problems or to assist decision-making. Working with others comes naturally to me as I played many team sports in High School and often work with others at my current job as a lifeguard and swim instructor for the City of Burnaby. These experiences have helped me become adept at communicating and collaborating with others. I very rarely experience conflict with others and have been able to work effectively in groups while completing projects at school. I am motivated by the well-being of others and enjoy helping people. I feel a greater sense of self-worth when I feel that I have been genuinely helpful to others. This is something that I would like to do in future employment positions. I am, however, working on being more assertive to ensure that my needs are being met as well. I enjoy being outdoors and make an effort to stay active and maintain my physical health. I love to ski in the winter and play golf, soccer, and ultimate Frisbee in the summer. I also enjoy watching sports and playing video games when I have free time.
