6 weeks living and working at Sparoza, the Mediterranean Garden Society's demonstration garden near Athens, Greece. An in-depth exploration of mediterranean-climate horticulture and the nuances of growing and maintaining gardens in drought-prone regions of the world. A full-circle gardening position: garden design, greenhouse propagation, installation and maintenance of the Casino's display gardens. Emphasis on time management and seasonal rotation of landscape: fall mums, winter Christmas trees and decorations, springs bulbs and bold summer beds of colorful annuals, tropical plants, and perennials.

Student employee of Cal Poly's 5 acre arboretum featuring the world's 5 mediterranean-climate regions. I maintained the South African and Chilean collections, as well as worked with other students on group projects related to landscape installation, turf maintenance and reduction, arboriculture, topiary, and landscape construction of bioswales, D.G. paths, stone steps and foot bridges. Occasionally coordinated volunteers and provided docent services to visiting groups.
