I worked in a team with two other graduating engineers, an advisor, and a client. We were tasked with designing a more efficient, safe, and cost effective sediment removal system for small to medium sized settling basins. Currently removal is either done by hand, a decrease in safety, or vacuum truck, an increase in cost. We designed a smaller sediment removal system by use of a pump and vacuum system.
