For the past eight years I have been studying business and hold two qualifications in this industry. I am currently studying for a BSc Business with Environment degree at the University of Exeter. Some achievements I have gained are completing both my Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards which has taught me how to be resilient and overcome challenges. Another achievement I have is completing a work experience day with McColls, where we had to design, create and pitch a business idea to the directors' panel; in doing this it has taught me how to be creative in my work and be confident in public speaking. In the past I have worked for Cineworld Cinemas as a team member; this job role required many skills, such as:Cash HandlingCustomer ServiceFood Handling (Including Stock Replenishment)CleaningHeavy LiftingCompliance with Health and Safety RegulationsIncreasing Sales (including upselling)Following Policies and Procedures (including adhering to alcohol licence)Dealing Face to Face with large Groups of PeopleAt my time at Cineworld, I have served various customers, from happy families to aggressive, angered groups, but in a situation like this I have learnt verbal communication skills to talk to customers, calm them, and resolve the problem at hand using my customer service knowledge. At Cineworld, I have learnt and developed all of these skills to both serve customers effectively, and efficiently whilst ensuring they have a great experience, enjoying a day at the cinema.
