I am a passionate architect and futurist who practices innovation in the fields of architecture, urbanism and design with the purpose to make a positive impact in the world.In search of experience and exposure to the global architecture and urbanism movements, I worked as an associate and head of design in prestigious architecture and urban planning studios in several cities around the world. This has given me a unique global perspective on architecture, urban design and culture.In 2014, I co-directed the Metropolitan Development and Territorial Plan for the city of Quito 2015-2025 (PMDOT). In 2016, taking as a theoretical base my work carried out for the PMDOT, I became Director of Strategic Urban Planning for the Vision of Quito 2040 spatial planning project where I directed a team of architects, planners, landscapers, sociologists and economists to create the first long term planning vision for the city of Quito, Ecuador. In 2015 I founded odd+ [oficina de diseño] @oddarchitects as a way to make the physical world a more habitable place using creativity as our most valuable asset. At odd+ we work at every scale– from design to execution.​ We are inspired by nature, incorporating its systems and processes into our work– aiming for a healthier coexistence.​ We learn through history, science, and precedents– developing new design techniques for the improvement of humankind. ​We confront and question the norm– creating state-of-the-art design solutions. Together we help our clients solve their most complex challenges; together we harness our diverse ingenuity to make projects that are fantastical, affordable, buildable, and beautiful.Our creations use elements of deconstructivism and ecological anthropology as methodology and design principles. Our works are sculptural and conceived as works of art. These always aim to generate in the user the magnificent feeling of the sublime.Our multyfaceted and highly creative methodology of work has been recognized on several national and international awards and honors. Among them, the distinguished prize Premio al Ornato Ciudad de Quito 2015, with the design of our first house odd+ House 1.0.
