I am a recent Queen's University graduate where I completed a Bachelor of Applied Science with Honours. I majored in computer engineering and minored in innovation and entrepreneurship. I am currently working towards a Certificate in Business through the Queen's Smith School of Business.Last summer I worked part-time at a local brewery while working on personal projects on the side. I gained experience developing and designing video games through Unreal Engine. I also experimented with a multitude of different platforms including coding applications for square space.In the summer of 2023, I worked as a software engineer at Briza. I coded a Rest API application using the typescript language. I gained experience working throughout the full stack, gaining an understanding of professional coding practices such as the Agile work environment and GIT repository. I was responsible for writing test cases, creating new features, and fixing bugs throughout the system.In my time at Queens, I spent two years as a part of the QMIND design team. This team focuses on innovation in the AI field pairing students together on cutting-edge projects. One of these projects was a 3D Hand-tracking application that follows a user's hand movements and generates a segmentation mask in real-time. In my final year, I had the privilege to work on a CAPSTONE project related to early detection of ovarian cancer. This project combined an AI back-end model, Random Forest, with an elegant front-end application to allow users to learn about their risk for ovarian cancer. Based on a dataset provided by the NCI our model was able to predict with an 80% accuracy. This project won first place for best software project at the end-of-the-year design presentation. I also had the opportunity to further present this project in a PEO and IEEE competition.
