Resulted in the first ever autonomous shuttle produced using combination of Direct Digital Manufactured (DDM) components,DDM Tooling, and traditional construction based components.● Coordinated initial testing of 3D Printed test vehicle for 3D Printed Highway Car Program. Managed (8)engineering personnel to establish test rig and coordinate with local test track for real time datacollection and analysis of 3D Printed vehicle structures.● Established standards and template program for all company processes and documentation, ensuringconsistency among all departments, resulting in a reduction of data loss and increase productivity.● Coordinated with key 3rd party partners during specific execution tasks of Olli vehicle development anddemonstrations, including autonomous system testing and development in National Harbor, Maryland.

Responsible for all engineering aspects of product development and product maintenance of (6) product areas. Lead a team of (10) engineering staff consisting of on-site project / design engineers, product designers, drafters, and off-site contract engineering personnel. Duties include cross functional product planning, custom order processing, developing product technical manuals, test and validation, manufacturing support, change management, budgeting and review, resource balancing and justification, contract resource management, and capital appropriation writing. Work directly with customers at all levels to ensure all relative product details are addressed, and any issues are resolved to the customer’s satisfaction. Managed introduction of new ladder rack system, overseeing concept designs and prototype production and lab testing.  Laid the frame work and managed the successful introduction of a new Thermoformed Bulkhead Divider Partition for multiple vehicles, including the highly successful Ford Transit Connect. Ensured conformance with FMVSS 201U requirements.  Lead the implementation of a new engineering data management system, coordinating the overall process of the translation of 1.5 million data objects.  Managed the expansion of key Industrial Product lines, which in part helped foster a record sales year for this business segment. Managed the development of the company’s first Propane Bobtail product line, overseeing the construction and related training. Oversee the continued expansion of a new Van Accessory product line including the development of new catalog packages and models. Ensure catalog releases are on time and of the proper content.

Lead a team of 6 engineering staff consisting of on-site project / design engineers, product designers, drafters, and off-site contract engineering personnel, supporting (5) main product lines and several accessories therein. Duties include coordinating design activities to meet product planning goals, custom order processing, manufacturing support, change management, and capital appropriation writing.  Coordinated the launch of new Forestry Product Line, encompassing (4) models and several options.  Facilitated the design and product release of all new 2-3 and 3-4 yard dump body product lines, including the testing and validation of all components.  Developed Special Merchandise Order (SMO) process flow diagram to ensure order processing among all departments was followed consistently and accurately.  Managed the introduction of a new Gooseneck platform line, spanning 3 model line-ups and related accessories.

Indirectly manage the activities of (3) engineering professionals in the design and launch of several key military products spanning several body types and purposes. Work directly with customers of all backgrounds (engineering, purchasing, and end users) to properly define and clarify product performance requirements and testing criteria. Ensure ITAR programs follow all regulations therein.  Designed, produced prototypes, and launched a new tactical service body program for a foreign military program.  Designed heavy duty cargo / troop carrier for Canadian Dept. of National Defense, spanning (6) models in 2009/2010, 1000+ units of production.  Oversaw the design and production of an armored Ammo Box for a foreign military program, which included ballistic grade armor plating.  Designed vehicle body systems for several TACOM contracts: o G097, C489, G006, G007, R496, Etc.  Managed the design and testing of a new, composite seat and tarp system used in several military body programs to date.

Perform daily engineering functions in relation to custom service body and platform design. Execute key product level or business level projects from cradle to grave.  Lead the implementation of SolidWorks 3D design software. Worked with outside vendors to evaluate the program functions, create custom applications, and integrate the software across all areas of the business.

Responsible for all production tooling and processes for the Low Hour service body assembly line. Design new and replacement production tooling to increase repeatability, accuracy, and improvement of quality for all production cells of the line. Write production instructions and procedures for all stations on the assembly line. Work with outside vendors to select optimal production tools and consumable materials such as grinding pads, adhesives, etc.  Designed, prototyped, and implemented a new braking system for the E-Coat Prime Paint system, reducing out of position load bar crashes by 90%, reducing related company downtime by the same.  Lead the re-design of all KUV rear door assemblies, reducing GMAW process by 50%, increasing strength by 40%, and removing overall cost of the final assembly by 30%.  Designed, from the ground up, a robotic adhesive application system and work cell for the KUV Rear Door assemblies, coming in under budget and on time.

Prepare and deliver instruction related to AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, Introduction to Manufacturing, Tool & Fixture Design.  Participated in CAD Advisory Committee Meetings, providing industry specific feedback and input into the course frame work.  Wrote (3) complete course syllabi and structured related course work for SolidWorks courses.
