I assisted and observed the Chief and 1st Engineer with troubleshooting of four 11,000hp main diesel engines and generators, including regular preventative maintenance and inspections of the engine’s components and auxiliary equipment. Maintained fuel oil system of the main engines, including purification, filtration, transferring, and bunkering weekly of ~250,000 gallons of fuel from a barge. Routine boiler inspections of burners, igniters, steam systems and equipment, including daily water treatment/testing and appropriate dosage of chemicals. Daily operation of an incinerator burning sludge from a waste oil tank and main engine fuel leak-off required regular troubleshooting and repairs of internal components.
