An accomplished manager with a proven track record of implementing processes that have improved quality control and made the organizations more efficient and effective. Currently I work for the Metropolitan Mosquito Control District(MMCD) as a Field Operations Supervisor. As a Field Operations Supervisor I manage a crew that inspects and treats mosquito breeding areas as well as provide control for disease causing mosquitoes. I am responsible for all of our fleet vehicles which consists of keeping them maintained, inventoried, and removing of vehicles that cannot be operated safely. I am also involved in control material testing and approving materials to be used in a wide-scale manner. I enjoy working at MMCD because of the unpredictable nature of working in the environment. As a manager, I have to be able to change any plan quickly to be able to react to elevated adult numbers, disease cases, or when the mosquitoes are developing in the water. At my time at MMCD I have been involved in a new control material inventory process that I helped develop and I am currently the inventory manager. I also helped develop a process that cut down our surveillance time from 3 days to 1 day. While working for Galyan's, I developed a process which allowed my department to manage staffing levels as well as recording any shortages or overages in balancing the drawers each day. I loved the fast paced environment and handling customer and staff issues. I was able to lower the turnover rate from 38% to around 17% before the store was purchased by Dick's Sporting Goods. I created the training program for the new credit card that Galyan's offered and my store was number one in sign-ups for the first three months it was offered.As a proven leader and manager I am always continuing to improve my techniques by keeping up with current management research, reading quality management books, networking, listening to my staff, and donating my time to helping others improve.
