Lead a comprehensive, multi-functional marketing team that develops and executes on the regional strategic marketing plan in support of corporate and commercial business objectives. Responsible for driving portfolio growth across Illumina's various product lines, market segments, and districts within the AMR region.

Led the product marketing team responsible for developing and commercializing long-read HiFi sequencing applications and workflows at PacBio. This includes whole genome sequencing (WGS) for de novo assembly and variant detection, full-length RNA sequencing (Iso-Seq method), single-cell full-length RNA Sequencing (scIso-Seq method), epigenetics (base modifications), targeted sequencing (PCR, capture), No-Amp targeted sequencing (Cas9), metagenomics (16S, MAG), and viral surveillance.

Led the Strategic Marketing team for PacBio’s single-molecule real-time (SMRT) long read sequencing technology which included Product Marketing and Segment Marketing. In this role, his team led novel methods and application development for PacBio's long-read sequencing technology resulting in numerous high impact publications and market adoption, including; HiFi Sequencing method, long read WGS for de novo assembly and variant detection with HiFi reads, full length RNA transcript sequencing (Iso-Seq method), single-cell RNA Sequencing (scIso-Seq method), amplification free targeted sequencing (No-Amp method), metagenomics (full-length 16S, MAGs), epigenetics (base mod detection).Member of the steering committee for NIST Genome in a Bottle Initiative developing reference material and high-confidence variant callsets. Led the team responsible for PacBio's active participation in numerous consortium including; Genome Reference Consortium (GRC), human pan-genome reference project, the Human Genome Structural Variation Consortium (HGSVC), international human reference genome reference projects (population-specific).

Managed business development and sales of genetic analysis and expression business for global Pharma and Diagnostic market segments. Accounts included Merck, Roche, Genentech, J&J, Veracyte, Pathwork Dx, Covance, Eli Lilly, Counsyl, Amgen and Pfizer. Achieved highest revenue performance for global business segment during tenure.

Managed national Sales and Business Development team focused on Academic, Government and Non-Profit accounts. Product was Ingenuity Pathways Analysis (IPA), a cloud based software and knowledge base used to analyze genomics data for molecular mechanism insight, biomarkers discovery, gene set enrichment analysis, canonical pathways and interaction network analysis.

Sales of molecular pathology testing equipment and consumables including IHC, ISH, and Special stains to hospital pathology labs and Pharma R&D. Focused on Pathologists and Histotechnologists. Competed with Ventana and Dako.

Worked on the production team designing and programming dataflow workflows for populating the back-end production database for the flagship biological sequence database product (LifeSeq Foundation). Used UNIX, Perl, Shell-scripting, SQL, Oracle DB schemas, XML, Linux, HTML reporting, etc.

Conducted basic research in a molecular biology laboratory at the UC San Diego Medical Center, Cellular & Molecular Medicine West, Palade Lab.
