Each of the curves in my professional life has brought with it experiences that were unique. Thanks to the variance of my employment, there hasn't been a lot of overlap in those experiences. Working as a photographer with Michigan Tech University and M J Shupe photography fostered a critical eye, both in composition and attention to detail. These skills are readily applicable to the "big picture" that exists outside of the photography industry.A deficit I realized from self-employment was that a laid-back style may keep you in the jobs, but it doesn't always get you paid. Through my retail employment, I gained confidence in selling in a way that provided a customer or client with a complete solution. In addition to improved selling, the follow-through that retail requires leaves no doubt that a job is done.The hospitality industry has been one of the most interesting and diverse career moves I've made. Not stopping at simple guest service, my varied skills led to computer repair, network management, and web content creation. All while making sure the accounting was accurate every night.I have goals set to run or manage a computer repair shop, with a computer school side business as a possibility. This would tie all of my technical expertise in with my people skills, and offer a service that goes behind fix it and forget it.Specialties: Photography, computer hardware diagnostics and repair, computer software installations, hospitality auditing, and some video/audio work.
