Lucas is currently a senior manager within the Advisory team at Security Risk Advisors. He has almost eighteen years of experience in Information Technology, with the last fifteen focusing in information security consulting. A large part of this time has been spent consulting as a red teamer, performing penetration testing against client environments, but has also operated as a fractional Information Security Officer, as well as a leader and team builder within the security practice. He has led global teams while consulting for multi-national organizations on information security and privacy. In addition to consulting, he is a Adjunct Professor of Cybersecurity at the Rochester Institute of Technology Global Cybersecurity Institute, helping to develop the next generation of Information Security professionals.Lucas is also a developer, having created several internal and external tools during his entire career, several of which are available publicly on GitHub at https://github.com/emperorcow. He is a member of the National and Southwest Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC) Red Teams and a competition director and global leader of the Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition (CPTC). During his free time, when not working on personal security projects or tools, Lucas is also an avid home brewer, wood and metal worker. He can often be found tinkering with other technologies (PCB design, embedded systems, CNC, etc.) to support his hobbies. He was also a speaker at IIA GAM 2020, DEFCON 27 in the Ethics Village, The IIA GAM/AllStars Conferences 2019, DEFCON 22, BlackHat 2015 USA, DerbyCon 4, as well many local conferences and events.
