Profile bio

About Lucas Kjeldsen

As an operations specialist and critical care paramedic with over 15 years of experience, I have spent the majority of my career working in high-risk, austere, and high-pressure environments across the world. This experience has given me the ability to work with and manage people from all walks of life - I love to be part of a team that is on the precipice of exciting and new discoveries or missions. My career has spanned many areas, from starting out as a reporter working for national newspapers, to becoming a paramedic (firstly within the US, then moving on to overseas assignments). I have held leadership positions in critical operational environments and have been responsible for developing security plans in conflict zones. My passion, however, lies within operations management, which I have excelled at and enjoyed immensely in numerous roles over the past few years. I held the position of Head of Operations for the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, which is the world’s largest regional security organization, with 57 states spanning a geographical area from Vancouver to Vladivostok. In this role, I wore many hats – I was the security focal point, where I was responsible for developing standard operating procedures, creating emergency response plans and drafting risk assessments. I also acted as a medical liaison officer, where I provided medical training to mission members, and was in charge of logistics and administration of vaccination campaigns. I served as part of the Reporting and Political Analysis Unit where I gathered critical and sensitive data from the field, analyzed, and reported on a regular basis to the Permanent Council in Vienna.Having spent so many years travelling, along with the privilege of experiencing so many interesting parts of the world and meeting so many fantastic people, I am now planning to move back to my hometown of Miami, FL.I feel I have acquired an extremely valuable set of skills over the past 15 years, and can bring a truly unique mix of operations management, process improvement, medical training and mentoring to a senior operations management role in a forward-thinking organization. To find out more, or to explore how we could work together, please feel free to drop me a message, or email me on lkelson@gmail.com
