At first blush, my work history might appear ______________ (insert your term here for eclectic, scattered, varied, &c.). I clearly didn't set out to build a resume of such a diverse bunch of elements but each of them builds on something earlier, and strands of experience/perspective/ability weave unexpectedly through the various experiences, and consequently I bring different things to the table that call on two sides of the brain; some roles ask for more reasoning and orderly thinking, and others ask for more abstract thought and new approaches or synthesis.I'd like to apply my media-related experience to human need to be an ally for those not so lucky as myself. If anything, my eclectic work history has fed a fascination with meeting people where they are, and I reason it must be building toward something, leading me toward the intersection of my ability and the needs of the world around me. Presently my work at Southwest Counseling is among folks with mental illness. I could never have guessed while delivering produce a decade ago that I'd work in a setting as I do now and that the experience delivering to top chefs in San Diego would pave the way for me use cooking as a channel to engage clients in a psycho-social recovery house in Wyoming, tasked as I am with preparing some of the meals for them and being able to receive the direct feedback for my work. Apologies if this doesn't enumerate a list of accomplishments and metrics, but I ride high on the compliment one client gave after making a Christmas dinner. "It's just like home!" For a guy who never went to culinary school and took the long road to that moment, that works for me.
